Marifetname & İlmihal Privacy Policy
This page explains how Marifetname & İlmihal for iPhone and iPad, published by Global Media, handles personal data. The app offers two books together: Marifetname by Erzurumlu İbrahim Hakkı and Büyük İslam İlmihali by Ömer Nasuhi Bilmen. This policy covers both, and the app's Günün Bilgisi (Daily Knowledge) and Günün Hikmeti (Daily Wisdom) home screen widgets. In short, the app does not collect any data from you and does not send anything off your device.
Data we collect
The app does not ask you to create an account and does not ask for your name, email address or contacts. No data is collected for usage statistics, analytics, crash reporting or advertising. The app has no server of its own.
Qibla compass and location
If you open the Qibla compass and grant permission, the app uses your device's approximate location and compass heading to calculate the direction of the Kaaba. Your location is used only on your device for this calculation; it is not stored and is never sent to us or anyone else. You can turn the permission off at any time in Settings; the rest of the app works without location access.
Information kept on your device
The following is stored only on your device so the app can work, and is never sent to us or anyone else:
- Bookmarks you add
- Your reading position in each book (Marifetname and İlmihal are kept separately)
- Your highlights and notes
- Your Bilgi Testi (quiz) results
- Text size, line spacing and dark theme settings
Deleting the app also deletes this information from your device. If iCloud or computer backup is turned on, Apple's backup may include it along with your other app data.
Home screen widgets
The Günün Bilgisi and Günün Hikmeti widgets show a daily passage taken from the texts installed with the app. The widgets do not connect to the internet, do not ask for location or any other data, and collect and send nothing. Tapping a widget opens the app at that passage.
Tracking and advertising
The app does not track you across other companies' apps or websites and does not access your advertising identifier. This version shows no ads. The app package includes Google's advertising library, but in this version it is never started, requests no ads and sends no data. If ads are added in the future, this policy and the privacy details on the App Store will be updated first.
External links
The support page, privacy policy and email links in the About section open in Safari or your mail app only when you tap them. Those sites and apps have their own privacy rules. If you email us, we use your message only to reply to you.
Children
The app does not collect personal data from anyone, of any age.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will publish the new version on this page with a new date.
